How to write a complete paragraph.

Some students find it difficult to write a paragraph, but writing it will be easy if you follow some tips:
WRITE A TOPIC SENTENCE
A topic sentence is the main idea of the paragraph, and it is usually located at the beginning of your paragraph. For example “Gold, a precious metal, is prized for two important characteristics”.
UNDERSTAND A GOOD TOPIC SENTENCE
A good topic sentence has a ‘topic’ and ‘controlling ideas’. The topic of the above topic sentence is“gold” and the controlling ideas of the above sentence is “is prized for two important characteristics”.
DEVELOP YOUR PARAGRAPH WITH SUPPORTING SENTENCES
Your topic sentence should be explained and given details. Hence, you need supporting sentence. How? Well, you have to explain your controlling ideas in your topic sentence. It means that you have to explain “two important characteristics of gold”. Take a look at the following example:
“First of all, gold has a lustrous beauty that is resistant to corrosion”. Therefore, it is suitable for jewelry, coins, and ornamental purposes. Gold never needs to be polished and will remain beautiful forever. For example, a Macedonian” coin remains as untarnished” today as the day it was minted twenty-three centuries ago. Another important characteristic of goldis its usefulness to industry and science. For many years, it has been used in hundreds of industrial applications. The most recent use of gold is in astronauts’ suits. Astronauts wear gold-plated heat shields for protection outside the spaceship”
WRITE THE CONCLUSION
Your conclusion is the summary of the paragraph. To write your conclusion you can summarize the contents of your paragraph or you can also restate the messages in the topic sentence in different sentences. For example: “In conclusion, gold is treasured not only for its beauty, but also for its utility”.
RECHECK YOUR WHOLE PARAGRAPH
Now you have the complete paragraph consisting of topic sentence, supporting sentences and a conclusion. Check if you still have grammatical mistakes. Always remember that all sentences in the supporting sentences explain the topic sentence.
Let’s see the complete version of your paragraph:

Read Across America Reader's Oath

A little bit of history

What is Read Across America?
Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss.
When did Read Across America begin?
It began in March 2nd , 1998. When it is also celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday.
Why Read Across America?
Motivating children to read is an important factor in student achievement and creating lifelong successful readers. Research has shown that children who are motivated and spend more time reading do better in school.

I promise to read
Each day and each night.
I know it's the key
To growing up right.

I'll read to myself,
I'll read to a crowd.
It makes no difference
If silent or loud.
I'll read at my desk,
At home and at school,
On my bean bag or bed,
By the fire or pool.
Each book that I read
Puts smarts in my head,
'Cause brains grow more thoughts
The more they are fed.

So I take this oath
To make reading my way
Of feeding my brain
What it needs every day.
